On Saturday 29 October 2016 the Letoba Multipurpose Breast Cancer Awareness Fun Run was held in Parys, Free State.

The walk was organised by Matsheole Salmina who said: “Cancer is one of the most serious diseases that people face and breast cancer is a very common amongst women. The key message of our Breast Cancer Awareness Walk is for women to keep themselves educated so that they can identify early warning signs and know how to reduce their risk for breast cancer. It is important for women to know what is normal for their bodies, and to be aware of symptoms of cancer, as early detection improves treatment outcomes”.

South African Breweries Central Region (SAB) became involved with the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk to assist with this very important cause. Says Leon Troskie District Manager of South African Breweries Central Region: “We understand the detrimental effects of cancer in our communities and believe that screening is very important not only for early detection, but also for educating the communities on early warning signs.”  For more information please contact Kgosi Mogotsi from South African Breweries on 051 406 8442.
