Z PR had the privilege to organise the Vodacom Yebo Gogo Pensioners Party in 2005.

“Old age should be viewed as an achievement and a natural stage of life with its own merits, wisdom and beauty”. This was just one of the points mentioned by MEC for Social Services MR G.H. Akharwaray in his opening speech at the Yebo Gogo Party held in Kimberley in June 2005.

The aim of the party, which is part of a national competition to donate money to charity, was to enable pensioners from the Kimberley region to have an exciting day out, with a delicious luncheon and a fun-filled day of entertainment.  Among the guests from Resthaven Old Age Home, Galeshewe Day Care Centre and Stillerwee Old Age Home were Councilor’s Agnes Ntlangula and Selina Nkomo from the Solplaatje Municipality, who attended on behalf of his Worship, Ald T.P. Lenyibi, the Mayor of Kimberley.

Activities for the day included a mini concert by 23 five and six year old children from the Smiley Kids Choir in Kimberley, bingo games hosted by Jaco de Wet, music by Star Sound, and an afternoon stage production by the Gravel Road Theater filled with cabaret, drama, funny stories, poetry, movement, dance, music and singing all especially choreographed to appeal to the guests.
