The Bloemfontein Business Chamber (BBC) hosted a special event at the Summerwood restaurant in the Odeion building on Thursday, 20 July 2017, as part of the Free State Arts Festival for the benefit of the Theatre Benevolent Fund.
The Theatre Benevolent Fund exists for everyone who has worked professionally in the entertainment industry and is the only welfare organisation that exists to look after the needs of this industry
The fund depends on the public’s goodwill to help retired artists. This fund does not receive government aid.
Artists like Antoinette Kellerman, Sandra Prinsloo, Albert Maritz, Zane Meas, Shaleen Surtie-Richards and Tinarie Van Wyk Loots, attended the event.
Spec-Savers sponsored 3 x Polar Sunglasses Vouchers, pens and free eye-screening vouchers for the 200 guests that attended the event.
