SAB media release issued by Z PR.

On Wednesday 5 June 2014, the South African Breweries (SAB) Central Region donated R50 000 worth of groceries to Hope House in Harrismith. Hope House is an orphanage that was established in 2004, and currently cares for 25 children whose ages range from 9 months to 17 years. The official handover was done by SAB’s Corporate Affairs Manager Adv. Neo Sephoti and Mr. Attie Mokhahlane, the Corporate Affairs Specialist for the Free State Province. “We were contacted by Hope House in 2013 to assist with their various needs. We sent out a task team to assess what they needed and determined that there was not enough money to provide for groceries and basic items for the children. It is a privilege to be able to assist and make a change in these children’s lives,” explained Mokhahlane.

Hope House Director, Jackie Littlewood, expressed her gratitude by saying: “We are confident that these precious little people will one-day make a significant contribution to humanity. This is not a random ‘hope for the best’ confidence. It is based on a track-record of care and nurturing for hundreds of similar children who are growing up to be extraordinary human beings. Love never fails, but it cannot fill the stomach of a hungry child. We are incredibly thankful to SAB for sponsoring this massive amount of groceries. This will keep the children happy and fed for at least the next 5 months”.
