Bloemfontein, South Africa – Actor Logan W. James, known for his role on Binnelanders, an Old Grey boy and Bloemfontein native, is stepping into the national spotlight at Montecasino with his professional musical theatre debut in Sean Bovim’s Private Presley, revealing a side of his talent that many fans have not yet witnessed. Best known for his work in television, Logan now shows his versatility as a singer, performer and actor, taking to the stage as one of the lead vocalists in Private Presley.
The production runs at the Pieter Toerien Theatre at Montecasino from 24 October to 30 November 2025, with 37 performances.
Directed and choreographed by Sean Bovim, Private Presley blends ballet, live vocals and storytelling to celebrate the life and love of Elvis and Priscilla Presley. Audiences can look forward to beautiful dance sequences and powerful renditions of some of Elvis’s greatest hits — including “Suspicious Minds,” “Surrender,” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love”.
“Getting the opportunity to perform in Sean Bovim’s Private Presley is such a blessing and I’m so extremely grateful,” says Logan. “Working with such creative minds and with a ballet company featuring dancers from across the globe, is an absolute honour. I’m learning so much, making friends along the way and every show promises to be an emotional and unforgettable experience.”
For Logan, too, this debut also carries deep personal meaning. His stage name, Logan W. James, honours his late grandmother, Margie Bruwer (née James), whose lifelong love of Elvis inspired his own passion for performance.
“Playing in Private Presley is a wonderful way to be able to keep my grandmother’s memory alive,” Logan shares. “Her home was filled with Elvis memorabilia — I think that’s where my love for Elvis really began. This show feels like a beautiful way to carry that part of her with me on stage.”
In addition to his television career, Logan’s lifelong dream is to perform on London’s West End, where he hopes to continue pursuing his love for musical theatre.
Private Presley isn’t a traditional tribute show, it’s a creative reimagining filled with Easter eggs from Elvis’s life and it beautifully explores his relationship with Priscilla Presley. Their romance, their struggles and their story.
“I’m truly proud to be part of this production,” Logan adds. “It’s more than just a show — it’s a celebration of passion, love and storytelling. I’m performing not just for myself, but for every dreamer with a strong passion for theatre. Everything is possible.”
