Ideal image sizes for social media pages 2021: YouTube

YouTube Channel Art

Profile picture: YouTube logo (PDF)

YouTube gives the following recommendations for your profile picture: It’s recommended that you use a picture that’s at least 98 x 98 pixels and 4 MB or less. Use a PNG or GIF (no animations) file.

A good guideline is to use a similar layout as your profile picture on Facebook as your logo will get a circular crop on this channel. We thus recommend 850 x 850 pixels. Make sure to leave a 91 pixel bleed all around so that your logo doesn’t cut off.

Banner image: YouTube banner art template (PDF)

YouTube suggests that for the best results on all devices, use an image that’s at least 2048 x 1152 pixels and 6 MB or less. Good channel art is unfortunately not so simple as you have to make sure your banner displays well on all devices. Use a total banner size of 2560 (w) x 1440 (h) pixels. This will be viewable on all devices. Your safe zone will be 1546 (w) x 423 pixels (h).

Video watermark: Watermark template

YouTube gives the following recommendations for the video watermark: 150 (w) x 150 (h) pixels. The watermark will appear on your videos in the right-hand corner of the video player. We would recommend that you save the file as a PNG with a transparent background.
